Adult Supervision Required

My darling husband and I were just sitting here working away when I started hearing "pop" quite loudly. Being the man of the house I thought he would get up and investigate the strange noise but no movement.

On the second "pop" I get up to find eggs exploding in the kitchen - the ones he was cooking himself for lunch. This is the second lot he has destroyed and the second time burning my lovely saucepans. :rolleyes:

He is now no longer permitted to boil eggs without adult supervision.

ROFL.. I get teenage supervision for the exact same things! My son told me he's scared to move out once done high school because I'll burn the house down! I promised I'd get a health care worker to supervise me cooking.

I should know better than to walk away from the stove... as I tend to forget I have something cooking until it burns.

I know I've boiled the water down in the kettle one to many times. It's just something that comes with the territory.

Don't put a whole egg in the microwave. My husband did that. It exploded.

Gas mark 6 for 60 mins, instead of Gas mark 4 for 40 mins.

Yep my husbands latest disaster with chicken drumsticks.

We had 8 of them exploding on the stovetop today Maze as Anthony thought he would save himself some time and boil in bulk.

was laughing so much my son-in-law asked me what was going on as it was only me and the ordi ... so I told him about Anthony and his cooking experience ... he said it wasn't fair as Anthony seems to be a good hearted guy who is trying to help out ok now I have to right to eat some bacon now

It sounds very similar to my 7 y/o who put chocolate in the microwave because it was to hard to eat . Punched 123 then hit start.

#1 rule of cooking...NEVER walk away from the kitchen when cooking. Especially on the stove top. Having found this out the hard way during the early years of my marriage (too many incidents to list), it's something I always remember. Maybe that's one of the reasons I like making casseroles where you put everything into a dish, pop it into the oven, set the timer and it's out of your hands until the timer goes off.

I wish I could join in and laugh about goofy husbands ruining the good cookware, but my husband is the chef of the house and I'm his klutzy assistant u_u (and if I splash him with boiling water or jab him with a kitchen knife... by accident of course!... one more time I'm banned from the kitchen)
