Another Med Added To The Mix

I've been on 60mgs Cymbalta now just over a month and my doc (and myself) wasn't totally happy with the results that I was getting... although they definitely were getting better. So the doc decided to add another med instead of changing to a completely different med and starting back at square one. She's added Respiridone (.5mg in AM and 1mg in PM). In my research its most often used for bi polar and schizophrenic people however it is also made to be used in conjunction to boost the effects of other SNRI's for people that are treatment resistant.

Anyone else have any experience with this drug?? Anything I should expect? My sleep is all over the map right now... sometimes I'm sleeping and other times, I'm wired for sound all night long and barely sleep an hour.

There was a side effect no one told me about and seeing as I was only 17 at the time, the side effect that caught me off guard was lactation. To this day, regardless of what they think it might do, I refuse to take it because I don't want to be constantly lactating, it only stopped when I ceased taking the medication.

The only other thing I can say is it didn't help me with sleep - which I believe is why they put me on it, but everyone reacts differently to medications.

I had that same side effect when I was on the birth control shot. It's definitely pretty unnerving when you start leaking and you don't know why!

I'm thinking that the dose I'm on is probably low enough to not cause many side effects. My dr said it would help me with sleep too and I don't really see any difference that way other than I want to sleep longer. I still have just as much problems getting and staying asleep. An Ativan before bed though... now that helps!
