Alot of my memory is black but I do have flashbacks. Different types. My therapist thinks it's memories coming to surface

Sunny, as the criteria describes they wouldnt have to have flashbacks but would have to have trauma reliving of some type and enough of it. A certain amount per week for a diagnoses. Not a normal bad memory. Trauma reliving of all types is associated with vividness, intense emotional states or dissociation etc. There is a physiological element which is why proper diagnoses happens in person. Some people think they have PTSD when they have normal bad memories. Apparently proper flashbacks with PTSD are fairly uncommon though.
