Regions of the brain function differently among people with post-traumatic stress disorder, causing them to generalize non-threatening events as if they were the original trauma, according to new research.

These newer imaging modalities should help to elucidate PTSD and other mental illnesses. We're in an exciting time in medical imaging. I just hope that something to help us will be found from these studies but of course the elucidation of the mechanistic pathways are of prime importance first :-)
