The closer one gets to exclusive dating or getting engaged or getting married, the more one might push the partner away or otherwise sabotage the relationship. Trauma histories and PTSD in the mix can super charge these patterns.

This is definitely true for my situation. I’ve never seen someone try to sabotage something so much, luckily I have done courses and been on this forum for a few years, so I can recognize when he’s doing it (and of course if he was violent or abusive I would leave). As things got more serious towards the moving in/kids discussion, it tended to fall apart
