The trials were probably done on people with depression @theshadowoftheliving As I am finding, evidence based research can be manipulated and cherry picked to justify some academics agenda. I think short intense and then no support after, or even with it would do exactly that to me make me want to die.

Naw, the research was really, really specific to PTSD (Cognitive Processing Therapy is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD, not depression). Still, I found it didn't work for me. Seems like it is geared towards people that might have regular PTSD, but for someone who has CPTSD and massive issues with safety, grounding and dissociation, it was a really, really bad fit.

It's al about fit, I suppose - what works for one doesn't work for another.

Yep and I think there is a lot of trying to fit all mental illness into one box. Complex trauma may have PTSD symptoms but yes the other stuff safety, and attachment and all that jazz, are crucial.
