I have seen my social Worker today who told me that I am well within my right to make a complaint against my therapist...
You are so brave. I was one who was saying "report her" "sue her ass" and I apologize for that. It just caused my "warrior" part to rise up hearing that someone betrayed your trust like this when you are so vulnerable and talking to a therapist is so very, very hard to do. I personally am a weak back boned person and I probably would not be so strong in your situation. I don't say that to put myself down, it's just what happened and how I responded to being overpowered. I think you are strong and I hope you get REAL support, real caring, real listening. I'm glad to hear you have a social worker.

@Star76 have you considered taking someone with you to police interview (explain you have ptsd and its only way you can get thru it). If you don't have some locally available, you might make use of the services of a rape/abuse crisis center (they provide people to accompany victims to court, etc.)

Hiya thank you for this i don’t want to do a police interview / any interview at the moment I’m just not in the right place. I have been considering phoning victim support / rape crises just to talk eveything through with someone has anyone had any experiences with theses helplines?. I feel so so alone.

@Star76 I have had some experience with the local rape/abuse crisis center here which runs the battered women's shelter, the hotline, companion services, therapy services, etc. Of course my contact with them was for past abuse. It's a good place to start.

You might want to try mock interviews to get ready eventually.

As for being alone, I think we all feel that to some degree or another, but each persons alone-ness is unique. I spent almost 40 years with my abuse locked away in my head and feeling alone with it, it was only July 2016 that I opened up about my abuse. I still feel alone with it at times.

Finding a friend who has abuse past but different than you to support each other helps, I have such a person, and we sort of help each other and we understand what each other goes through, thoughts, etc. in a way that others can't relate. It's not about sharing each others abuse story (enabling co-dependence a concern), it's about understanding the other person, and visa versa. It's about knowing that someone else truly gets it, and understands at a level others can't having been there themselves.

Take it slow, and in measured steps you can check off and say, "I got through that one". Marking your progress.

follow your instincts on what you need. I have read some scholarly articles that reported those who did report to police and have to testify in court suffered more PTSD than those who didn't. It was interesting since facing the truth, speaking it out loud, is what starts to heal it. But it takes time, and your being knows it's own timing. so sorry you feel so alone. I wish you weren't. I hope you stumble upon someone in your physical life that you will be able to feel fully yourself and about to have some emotional support.

This is so true, it took me almost 40 years to reach the point where I can even talk about it, and even then I still I shutdown and disassociate.
To echo what I hear from one of my supports regularly "Take care of you". You come first, accountability comes after that somewhere.
