This woman quite literally saved my life. I was at the end of my rope when I met her. I was suicidal and had a plan. I had been through 3-4 counselors prior to meeting her. She pulled me back from the edge and has explained and helped me understand more about PTSD than I ever knew possible. She has 20 years experience in PTSD and Bipolar (I&II). I have both PTSD and Bipolar II. She keeps up with the latest changes and improvements in EMDR treatments. She is very committed to educating her patients as to why they react in certain ways. She explains (often right down to the structural changes in the brain) that it isn't just in your head and there is a medical basis for what's going on. I thought I was going crazy and that it was all in my mind and she helped me understand there is a medical reason for it all and how a traumatic experience can change the brain so dramatically, especially in the developing brain of a child. She also likes her patients to bring in any new info they might find online themselves. She encourages healthy discussion. I don't know where I would be without her.
She has her office at her home in the country and it is just so peaceful. She has a relaxed environment, she often wears jeans and puts me at ease (which is really hard to do). I would highly recommend her.
