Hi! Not sure where to post this. I have a Facebook Account but have been thinking about deleting it because it does not seem to really serve a point for me. Thoughts?

I deleted my account for about a year but did not miss it one bit.

I suppose it depends upon whether the 'friends' on Facebook you have, have other ways to contact you, or of you even want them to?

I only made a new account to find flatmates at uni!

I deleted mine because it hurt more than help and caused me triggers. I have been happier without.

It can be used as a good networking site but from my experiences it is not used for that.

I also deleted mine because I didn't see a point in it.

If you are debating it, then there is probably no point in it.

Do what you feel comfortable with.

Pointless for me. I only log in to get coupons, freebies or to enter a contest. Most of what you read is useless knowledge. However, I'm considering making a family account just for family. Shhhhh....don't tell FB! I know I'm only supposed to have one account lol. (I already have 3...)

Thanks - I hardly ever post and only use it to keep up with what others are doing, although I have other ways to reach them. I also like the idea of creating something semi-private. I just have to come up with a good name!

I deleted my FB account, years ago, because concerns over privacy. And I don't miss it.

Well, it took me over 20 minutes but I finally deleted it - I feel like celebrating! They told me it would be permanent in 14 days.

I deleted mine and months later signed in and voila! There it was!

There is deleting and there is deactivating. I'm pretty sure you have to message Facebook to have the account deleted. If you do it in settings, you are just deactivating it and can reactivate it at any time.
