Frustrated With Therapy

After that, he asked me to talk about whatever I want and I didn't have anything to say.
At that point, my T usually starts talking about dogs, or car racing (his hobby), or his grandma's cookies, or anything "safe". He doesn't leave it to ME to come up with something to talk about. Maybe the silence freaks him out more than it does me, I don't know. But, you might come up with a list of "safe, if pointless" topics for these situations. Maybe even share that with your T. (That might be too weird?)

On one rather memorable occasion, at the beginning of a session, when we both knew there was something to talk about that I didn't want to talk about, my T asked what I wanted to talk about. I replied with, "The weather?" He burst out laughing and said, "I think not!" It helps a little to be able to laugh about this stuff. I think it happens fairly often.

I think it is helpful. Unfortunately I don't have much sense of humor. Can you give me some other examples like this, please?[DOUBLEPOST=1406135522,1406135453][/DOUBLEPOST]Something is wrong with my post. Sorry
