I found a good book a few years back and finally read it over the past couple years. This is what drove hiome what PTSD really is. Befiore, I just thought it was stress. Never could understand some of the stuf the doctors said in their reports. But after reading this a few times, I know all too well.

"Post-Trauma Stress- A personal guide to reduce the long term effects and hidden emotional damage caused by violence and disaster" - 1993
Frank Parkinson; Fisher Books. ISBN- 1-55561-058-7. $12.95

Anyone read this? What I did here is I would read a chpater, wait a day or two, and then re-read it this time emphasizing with a pencil. If you saw how many notes I have....LOL!

When I read it all I could say is "this guy has been in my head!"
Not sure how officially good it is, but it sure is a pretty good book in my eyes.

I will have to pick that up. What has really helped me overall is Dr. Burns "Feel Good", it is all about how to do CBT on your own, remarkable and helped me immediately stop thinking about suicide.
