Arghandab river valley in Kandahar.. Horrid rural area

Tracking. I was in the Baglan Valley corridor....also a very rural agricultural driven area. Funny how rural areas=more IEDs and small arms than cities haha. Spent most my time in RC-E. Made it to KAF once I think

Yeah, the dab was so riddled with ieds it took months to even get trucks to our COPs. You nailed the small arms point too- the little bastards could herd their goats right past us, pick up an ak and empty the mag, hide it and continue herding.

KAF is a joke. I made a handful of trips there and all soldiers talked about was how their supervisors were jerks and how Tim Hortons was out of donuts. The soldiers from other countries were cool though, especially the Irish and Australians. There was this one time- rocket alarms were blaring and the pogies were running to the bunkers when a rocket hit a nearby office building. It didn't detonate but I guess it landed on a civilian and killed her. What are the odds of that?

I recall hearing about one landing on someone while they were on a treadmill.
Tim Horton's was the shit.
Started in KAF, branched out, Bastion/Leatherneck was were we were at the longest.
Marines were like, "Yo wtf these Army dudes doing here? You guy's are getting hit on OUR routes, getting them shut down."
But with the RCP deal we stayed where ever.
Kaf, Sangin, Farah, Gereshk, Lashkar Gah, Ram Rod, Wilson, Camp Price

Whatever shit hole we were staying out was usually fairly happy to have our support, minus a few guys bitching & moaning.
Going back to KAF was like, "f*ck yea!"

Dude that and green bean! We would re supply at BAF from time to time but I would HATE seeing poagies walk in PTs while I was covered in dirt and dust from a 80 hour convoy one way...or how they talked about being rocketed and picking up "CABs"....I was like wtf bro this shit ain't call of duty!

...The funny thing is when I was there all I wanted to do was be back on the cop in the middle of f*ckin nowhere and going out on patrol and getting into the good shit...funny how combat makes you addicted...
