I almost answered yes but I was understanding the question differently. What I always wanted and I still fantasise about is an off switch. You know films where dolls are animated and walking and talking and then someone switched the off switch? That. I want time to stop for me.

I have however wished for time to stop when I have been overly busy or everything is to frantic and overstimulating around me.

I agree that skipping forward in time usually feels more appealing!

I would not let myself want to change things from the past or go back and fix things as just the thought makes me feel deeply depressed and unhappy as well as despairing about the present. It is'nt safe for me to go there and I don't.

Yes, I've always wanted to be able to stop time. Mostly I want this when I need to take a break to nap or relax, but can't. Thinking about it now, though, it would also be great for my engineering exams. Let's be honest, no engineer is ever going to completely design and sign off on something, calculations done and all that, without referencing something. How annoying is it, then, that we can't double check a mathematical formula or a definition in order to move on with answering a test question? The profs routinely admit to needing references all the time.

No. I'd like to stop myself from being aware while time continues, so I can get through the whole of my life and be done, without having to participate in it.

When I've got too much to do, I still don't want to stop time. I just want it to have moved forward so the too-much-to-do time is over, as if it never was.

Queen of Dissociation. :D
