New Here
Like I said I'm matt24, 32 years of age and looking to meet people online who suffer from or who have suffered P.T.S.D. I myself have had it for 10 years now and felt like it was just me dealing with it. I was stabbed quite badly and nearly died and thats affected my self esteem and confidence alot. Anyone in a similar situation, drop me a line if you wish:)

Matt welcome to the forum. Making new relationships and maintaing any relationships seems to be next to imposible for me. I don't trust the relationships and end them before they break me. I hope you take the time to look around the forum and find the support that we all need.

Thanx for replying, relationships are virtually impossible for me too, its like I dont want to get hurt again, but being solo is depressing itself,so its like a catch22 for me

Hi Matt24,

Welcome to the forum. :)

Relationships are very difficult for me too and I know that PTSD plays a huge part in that, so I can definitely relate to the catch-22 frustration/depression. Being disabled by PTSD, I spend a lot of my time alone, bored, and depressed.
Ya know, I think relationships are hard for most people, but especially for us. A lot of times, our trust has been betrayed.

Over the years I have learned that it takes two healthy people to have a good relationship and not everyone is dedicated to self-improvement the way survivors are, ....so I guess I am saying , don't be too quick to blame yourself or the PTSD for relationship problems because everyone has them and both people involved are responsible for the relationship, not just the one with PTSD.

Hopefully you will find someone intelligent enough to appreciate you as you are, regardless of any PTSD challenges that you may have as a result of being traumatized!!!

wishing you peace,
LH

Hi Matt,

Dont worry you will find someone who will accept who you are and who will love you. my ex fiance has PTSD. I did all I can to show that im always there for him no matter what happens. Until now I still do care for him.

Just dont lose hope.if theres life theres hope.

Take care..
