@Friday - yeah, cost is a significant factor why they are not fighting for the kids. 2 mil? That’s insane!
Also, I’m not sure my friend could handle full time single parenthood and full time work that is finically keeping both households alfoat. I’ve seen the spouse emotionally bully everyone around them, and there are stories of them passing out drunk. That’s the extent of what I know about. The spouse is kind of checking out of a lot of parenting tasks more and more so my friend ends up with the kids more and more anyhow. My guess is that their underlying depression and etc is getting the better of them.
My friend wants to get back with the spouse. I would be disappointed if they do. I can see why… but selfishly, they and their kids are soooo much easier to be around without the spouse around. Ugh. My friend called in tears this weekend missing the spouse. I had to bite my tongue.
If their spouse was around again with my friend… I wouldn’t want to be there in that space. That would be hard for me to navigate. My friend and I have became a lot closer since the spouse took space. Sigh.
