I don't care who you are, or what your problem is, cheating is never okay. If you have, and I mean if, an actual addiction or issue that causes you to need to sleep with whoever breathes the right way then that is something that you need to discuss with your spouse. Negotiations and compromises can be made. Non-monogamous relationships and marriages can work really really well as long as all the ground rules are followed and (like any relationship) honesty is valued. If your partner isn't into an open relationship then you need to move on if you honestly cannot stop from sleeping with other people.

There is no excuse for cheating, and it annoys the hell out of me when people try to make one up.

It's extremely tough to summon up some sympathy for this continually running addiction excuse for the over-indulged. My abuser's addiction 'made' him beat the stuffing out of me, keep a string of girlfriends as long as Tiger Wood's, and then 'made' him stalk me for years. His wealth kept him tolerated in all these things much longer than the average person would have been allowed to slide by with any of it, then his addiction seemed to be some kind of excuse.

I surmise the guy at least didn't beat his wife, but I'm a little touchy on the whole addiction-as-an-excuse for the over-indulged schmucks of the world.

Yep... blame the old addiction. I don't get why the truth just isn't spoken... say, "I did it because I wanted to have sex with x, x & x". Just own it instead of shifting it and calling it some addiction. This happens to all people, not just the rich.

That's an extremely good point! I'll bet the regular-income scmucks out there are hating Tiger around now for shining a light on their stupid blame-the-addiction games. Maybe some good will come of all the rampant publicity after all.
