New Here
Hi my name is Andrea I'm new to this group i just came across it.
I'm 48 I was abused as a child by my step dad then last year when he died my daughter also told me she was abused by him as a child and also my neice. So my stored memory of the abuse resurface tenfold and I hit rock bottom with guilt shame anger and every other emotions you can think of it was like pandora box opening and all my memories have jumped out at the same time and my brain can't process them. I'm awaiting EMDR therapy for my ptsd any way that's me in a nutshell. I hope to here from you all.

Hello Andrea,

Welcome to the myptsd.com community. I’m so sorry to hear about what you and your loved ones have gone through. It's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed with emotions like guilt, shame, and anger, especially when such painful memories resurface so suddenly. Please know that you're not alone in this journey.

This is a safe place to share your experiences, connect with others who truly understand, and find support from people who have faced similar challenges. Many of us in this community recognize the impact of past trauma and are here to offer empathy and understanding.

While you're waiting for EMDR therapy, connecting with fellow survivors here can be a valuable step in your healing process. You'll find various forums that cover many aspects of living with PTSD and CPTSD, from managing symptoms to sharing personal stories, which might resonate with you and provide some comfort.

Remember, it's important to take care of yourself and reach out for professional help whenever you need it. The journey toward healing is personal and sometimes challenging, but being part of a community like this can be reassuring and comforting.

Please feel free to share more about your experiences or ask any questions. We’re glad you found your way here, and we’re here to support you.

Thank you means alot 🙏 ❤️

Welcome to the Forum! I am sorry for the reasons you are in need of support, and hope you are as blessed by the people here as I have been.

I also deal with CSA and it’s taken a lifetime to make the progress I have made. EMDR can be a lifeline to healing and I highly recommend it. I am about to use it to get into my childhood trauma this time.

It really helped me deal with the death of my little girl…and I have high hopes of healing further.

Welcome again!
