That is correct @Lucycat however I am being treated with an to seizure medication the same as I would have if I was suffering with full Epilepsy due to the frequency and severity of my seizures.

Being on Gabapentin at the same time as being on the other medications then being prescribed Clopidogerel which has adversly reacted with my other drugs is the issue for me regardless of my diagnosis, which is being very closely monitored by my GP.

@Suzetig with this being a serious drug as @joeylittle has stated I personally feel aggrieved in this matter and regardless I feel very strongly that the specialist is accountable for this.

I am seeking legal advice from a specialized firm of solicitor's and intend to be guided by them. I value all the replies I have received so far on this read and welcome any further replies.

With everything else I have been suffering with or officially diagnosed with, the huge amount of medications I am on now for these numerous medical conditions, IMHO more care and attention to detail should have been taken in this. If the solicitor advises in the negative i shall accept that advice.

@joeylittle I take full note of your research into this and have also done extensive research myself prior to opening this thread.

I personally feel that the consultant is accountable in the circumstances.

Regardless of the pharmacology surrounding this issue I have also presented with many of the side effects listed, especially the issue surrounding tachycardia.

I simply feel that more care should have been taken when prescribing me Clopidogrel.

you should change treatment teams. There is literally no connection physiologically between a non-epileptic seizure and an epileptic one. It's not that pseudo seizures are a lesser grade of epilepsy; they are a high grade of somatoform disorders.

Gabapentin is given for them to reduce the general physical pain and stress that can bring them on. Same reason it's used for fibromyalgia.

Is your doc suggesting an alternative to the clopidogrel?

It's a pharmacological issue. You can't say 'regardless of the pharmacology'. There's nothing besides it.

I do understand that you reacted badly to the clopidogrel, and you want someone to be accountable. It sucks when meds backfire. I do hope they can figure out an alternative. It will be difficult, with your other diagnoses.

Seizure medication doesn't work to prevent pseudo seizures because they don't have a physical cause - as @joeylittle says gabapentine may be prescribed to prevent pain and stress but don't do anything to reduce seizures other than to reduce possible triggers. One of the diagnostic indicators for PNES is that seizures don't respond to anti-epileptic drugs and treatment tends to be in the form of therapy/psychiatry.

I'm surprised your lawyer is already saying you have a case for medical malpractice - that's a very tricky case to pursue in the most straightforward of situations and yours seems far from simple. Most lawyers won't give a clear assessment of the case until medical/prescribing notes have been reviewed, usually obtained directly from the hospital.

@Suzetig I spoke with a Junior Solicitor earlier this week and make that statement on their opinion. This has been referred to a senior partner within the practice.

As I stated previously I fully respect all input and advise in this matter and take into account all comments. I am extremely upset about this after the past 9 months I have had to endure.

I am thankful for the peer support I have received about this and now have to go to my doctors as I am retaining fluid so much now (bloating up) I have gained 4" in waist size since taking this medication. I have continued with my diet as advised by my dietician but have been forced to purchase new clothing as a direct result. I awoke this morning to find that the brand new jeans I purchased on Tuesday now are much to small in the waist.

I know I am emotional and ranting about this matter, I hope you understand my frustrations
