Relationship It Isn't Always "just" Ptsd

Reading through many articles in the supporter's section, it occurred to me that several people that have loved ones whom they recognize as having PTSD don't always realize PTSD isn't the only thing afflicting the person.

Case in point: a friend of mine's wife was diagnosed with PTSD, depression, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, some other personality disorder, and Post-partum depression.

For many, finding out a loved one has PTSD is both informative and frustrating. It can help a supporter understand what a sufferer is going through.

Often times a supporter's gaining knowledge of PTSD is their first foray into understanding psychological/emotional disorders. However, the efforts shouldn't stop there.

My suggestion, especially to those who are just learning to try to make sense of everything, is this: keep doing research, keep studying, and realize that PTSD isn't the only disorder out there, and it doesn't always come alone.
