Ladies: Menstrual Cycle And Ptsd?

Ahahaha.

I feel like a lunatic on mine. Honestly my bedroom is a mental ward. My fiancees even brought me in food like a prison guard. I feel hedious and monster like haha. Not cool.

Yeah I am on sleep medications and nothing will knock me out. A horse tranqualizer probably wouldn't even knock me out. Its a ptsd symptom of mine too amplified by ten this time of the month.

I feel like most of us our in sync with our cycles haha.

Menopausal sucks. I got a bitter taste of it after my surgery. They gave me a shot to go menopausal to keep my periods away so the endo won't come back.

I cried for a week straight, sweat threw my clothes probably 3 times a day and I experienced a wave of opposite emotions for about a month.

Needless to say, I stopped the shots. I was begging for my period to come back ha.

Yikes you and I should connect during our periods more often hahahaha I am serious though.

My cycles didn't used to be this bad until PTSD. I did have an emergency surgery in Feb 2009. I had a 6cm cyst rupture on my left ovary and I was hemmhoraging. I almost died. They planned to take my ovary but saved it from mangling.

I wonder if that caused PTSD onset. Who knows! There were so many traumatic things happening simultaneously in a 2 year time frame.

Oh my I am so sorry! I had a cyst on my left ovary too that they found. I honestly felt like that surgery because it was so personal and down there, retraumatized me. I am glad during the surgery they found that cyst because I know how lethal that can be. I am so glad you are okay too!

Im having hot flashes now haha. Great!

Thanks. Yah it was weird. I've had cyst ruptures since I first got my periods at age 14 so I was no stranger to them. It started out as the usual. You know how bad the pain can get then. I went to the hospital to get relief and make sure everything was okay just like usual.

The nurse came in after the ultrasound and asked me what my pain was on the scale. I said 2 because I got a high pain tolerance. She gave me the funniest look. They gave me a pain shot. I didn't think anything of it. Next thing I know, I'm waking up from surgery. I had a complete black out from morphine. Never had it before. Apparently, I was walking around the hospital coherent during the black out and then they got me ready for surgery. Don't remember signing anything.

Oh my gosh that is terribly scary I am so sorry you went threw that.

My aunt had one rupture and she had seizures and almost died. I remember how traumatic it was for her!

For years my doctors kept telling me I was okay. That my pain was normal I had to fight and fight and I finally took it into my own hands and researched a specialist who was just so caring and understanding. He showed me the ultra sounds/pictures and explained everything. It was a battle getting the diagnosis e endo after explaining that endometriosis runs in my family. Most of them thought I was seeking hard core pain medications and lying. It was pretty devasting.

One doctor told me oh you MIGHT have endometriosis. I was like um I just racked up at $300.00 bill for a test and 1. You're telling me I MIGHT have something that could affect fertility 2. You are telling me this at a nurses station as pregnant women are walking around. I gave her the dirtest look ever and told her I would NEVER stop foot in her office again. So then I got the specialist and racked up another $300.00.

After the surgery. He gave me colored pictures of the entire surgery. Haha. Weird seeing all your veins and reproductive organs staring back at you.

Yah some doctors astound me. Sorry you go through painful periods too. The stabbing pain and doubling over is definitely over the top.

I gotta go try to sleep. It won't happen but hubby is ready to go :/

I will reply tmrw. Nice chatting. Thanks for the laughs!

If it makes you ladies feel any better, I've had to deal with fluid filled cysts on my ovaries, benign of course, but any form of sex used to have me doubled up in the shower for about an hour after sex.

Felt so bad for my other half, he always thought he had broken me, and didn't know what he was doing wrong! I also had to undergo surgery for CIN III, which was about to start going deeper into my cervix, we caught it just in the nick of time.

For those of you who don't know, CIN III is the last stage of HPV before it goes deeper into the tissue and become full blown cancer, considered to be carcinoma-tic in-situ at Stage 0 Cervical cancer.

So I might be pregnant, but I'm definitely empathising with you all despite my period-less period!

My moods definitely cycle through the month. My cycle is 28-33 days long and I can look at a calendar and decide in advance how much socialization I can handle throughout the month without blowing up at people.

I have the kind of relationship where it isn't ok for me to be nasty. I have to keep my mouth under control--verbal abuse doesn't get to go in either direction in our house. It's a nice place to be but some weeks I just don't say a lot.

I haven't read through all the comments yet, but yes, at about a week before that time of month, my PTSD symptoms get monumentally worse. I trigger much easier than normal, and I have much more problems with cutting and suicidal ideations. I have been prone to this, when I was younger I was put on low hormone birth control to help with acne and I went nuts. So the week before, I'm a train wreck. :(
