Recovery 4 me I found the book so helpful, that it did not trigger me at all. I had so many ah ha moments while reading it. Like I said it was an invaluable resource to me about learning how to recognize when I was ignoring the red flags and the gut instinct.

If you find it triggering, take it in small doses.

I guess I will have to unpack my books to fine it as I found the whole book a real eye opener. I love the author who has also written other books. I find that it helped me to be able to reclaim parts of myself.

I found a copy of the book in my closet so I will read the whole book again and be better able to discuss it. It is worth it to read the entire book. If it does not work for anyone, please do not read it as you are not ready for the information on how to see the red flags etc.

I am on page 261 in the book and it has been a long time since I read that book and I am glad because it clarified some things for me. It has a wide range of topics that might now apply to you, but it shows how predators minds works. It makes me feel a little better about my daughters ex husband who beat her once and she had him arrested. He is respecting the restraining order so I know he fears further problems with the police.

((Gizmo)) Thank you so much for the book share. You do not have to go through unpacking or anything special for me. I am almost finished and found so much that was valuable. It also helped me toughen up and that was a good thing! When I do come to the end, I am going to reread the highlighted parts. Especially since in the last chapter anxious-worry versus real fear as well as the value of fear is excellent for recovery and wisdom.

Example for me to remember from the Gift of Fear
"1) When you feel fear, listen.
2) When you don't feel fear, do not manufacturer it.
3) If you find yourself creating worry, explore and discover why. " Gavin D. Becker

Anytime it strikes you, just let me know any other author that has helped you.
Also Giz, deep empathy concerning your family.:sorry: Peace, light and prayers for healing your pain and your daughter's well being.

Recovery 4 Me, another really great resource book I have used over and over is The Betrayal Bond By Patrick Carnes. It explains so much about how we are because of what we suffered and endured. I hope you get that book because it is so helpful..I am so glad that you are getting useful information from The gift of fear.

On it!!! You are one inspirational leader! Thanks Gizmo.
(BTW, I bought my son the cuddly Giz when the movie came out.) Gizmo-gizmo-6068660-500-333.webp Adorable!

The Gift of Fear has really helped me face the employment challenge. Can't thank you enough.

Recovery 4 me, thank you so very much. Perhaps a simple thank you would have been better. I am uncomfortable with compliments and I did not wish to diminish what you said about me. Hugs.
