Everyone keeps saying this. I guess I just don't see myself that way.

Thank you though, it is pretty great to know someone thinks that of me even if I don't think it of myself.

I'm so very, very, very sorry for your loss. I know just with my experience so far someone saying they're sorry doesn't help that great. But know that I am sending you love.

@mysweetheart - you are very brave to share your beautiful, terrible story here, and I hope in time you are able to find help and companionship here. You have known a love that few people have the chance to experience in life, and nothing that anyone can say will take away the tragedy of what happened. I hope the fact that you were able to comfort him at the last, and all your magical memories will help lift you as you grieve. I hope you will continue to feel him around you, too.

Thank you all, again.

It's been 2 weeks today. I went to my therapist, went to the tattoo parlor to talk about a few memorial tattoos, and while he was inking someone we just talked about loss. I joked and said, "I just came from my therapist, sorry for unloading on you.".

I've been trying to keep the peace with his Mother, and it's difficult. But I want to remain respectful even if she lashes out.

Take care of yourself. And, with the mother, everyone grieves differently. Some grieve in a not very healthy way. They need to find control or a target in the chaos of loss. It hurts less to focus on control or feel anger or resentment than to mourn. Some people get lost in the grief.

I hope she realizes what a wonderful person her son loved soon.
