I am going to stop all this nonsense now.
Mercy, it is not your role to tell people what they should, or shouldn't, post upon another's thread. If you have an issue, report it. If nothing is done, then it means nothing is breaking forum policy.
Sheila, I do concur with you that it is up to Froggie to decide and answer your question, as the thread starter, it is up to Froggie to decide whether you're bothering her discussion and should start your own thread, or not.
Everyone else, as above. Staff do not dictate thread content, as it is the thread starters responsibility to keep threads on track IF they want that. Threads naturally deviate in discussion as they continue, hence why it IS up to the thread starter, not staff, not other members, to dictate such actions.
Staff - Completely off-topic posts added to a thread is completely different from a threads discussion progressively taking a course of its own / people posting related responses, which is what has occurred here. The discussion is related, though another members cancer issue. This is also nothing to do with new threads being in the wrong forum. The discussion is related, being cancer. Froggie decides whether another member with cancer, posts their content in their own thread, or whether they can tack onto hers as related.
This is not a diary... it is Chit Chat.
I don't want anyone believing I am taking any sides, because it is far from it. The above is forum policy, is my policy, on how the forum is run. If anyone thinks otherwise, I will lock this thread and force everyone to go start their own cancer discussions.
