Me And My Cancer Adventure

What a day yesterday (Thursday). I had an appt with my family doc. She was a resident at the same university as me when we met 11 years ago and we have gotten to know each other. She started to cry and was angered that I had cancer from what all happened. That it was unfair that I'd have that after I tried to help so many people and that she felt helpless. But she did ALL she could with the knowledge she had for me. I had no signs only indications that I may have had a twisted intestine - long way from the actual cancer diagnosis. So we cried together, in each others arms. She updated my medication and we promised to keep in contact.

I had a bit of an accident just before getting home. I had done some Christmas shopping and had 2 big bags. I went to my bank and as I climbed the cement stair outside, my foot got caught in one of the bags and ... boom ... fell flat on my face. Lucky my glasses weren't broken, but I've got a good bump on the forehead, nose, fingers and one hand are scraped. I'm wondering if I don't end up with a black eye .... eurk ...

Then later on I get a call from a Microsoft tech support ... hein ... what ... my computor has been hacked ... only thing, after a while I really got to think that maybe he was the hacker. That I'd have to pay 200$ now for Explorer, WTF. He said that my computor would crash as he hhad control over it. All my icons are gone and I have to go through another way to get to my files and stuff. I'm going to ask my son-in-law to help me with that. I talked to him about it last night and he said that it was a scam ... so I've been a bit on edge and angry at the same time. Spent the evening doing back ups.

So that's about it for me ... for now ...

Microsoft dont call you Froggie, that scam has been running rife across the UK for months and many have fallen for it.

I posted this up a while ago, and am still getting calls from the idiots. I even yelled at one that I had just bought my laptop, it was still in the box and I had not connected to any provider yet. he still insisted that I had a problem.

As Anthony would say "Go figure".

Hi Froggie

Sorry to hear about you fall; don’t get too upset over the PC as stress is not good for you. The scam you talk about is a common one; they have tricked you into deleting one of your files, just use your Microsoft recovery disk to do a system repair. To a scammer this sort of thing is fare game and they have no interest in how people are affected by their crime, especially when those they hurt are in a venerable state. They are just maggots and you have stepped on many of those in your past dealings, you are bigger than them!

These creeps make me so mad. My life is computers. Every time they do this to someone, they are cutting into my life! Sometimes I just want to show them some of what i learned in the SCA. Just with live steel!

(((Froggie)))Scammers have no thought for who they target. They are the 'ticks' in humanity, they serve no function other than to cause distress. They have no conception that to people like you, the computer is a lifeline. to them I say this.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits, and may your arms be too short to scratch

I'm sorry about your fall, just what you don't need.

Linking arms my friend
