So this movie is e few years old.
Probably more of a guy pick. Very violent, but I found it facinating.
The story goes that this young man has been kept captive for years by some Horrible crime lord. The Young mans purpose is to attack, beat of kill on command of his master. The young guy has a collar locked onto his neck, and when his master takes the collar off, the young kid goes into attack-mode.
The young man gets seperated from his abusive "Owner" and is taken in by a kind old blind man.
Gradually the young man begins to speak and see that he is in a safe place. He sees for the first time that he can make choices for himself.
HERE is where I found the most profound moment in the movie. The young man can NOW take off the collar. But he is terrified too. It is all he has ever known. He is captive still in his head.
Will he take off the collar and move on from his trauma?
Watch and see!
I'd love to hear other peoples thoughts on this.

Sorry to reply again, but how do I start a new post in this group?
One movie that has meant something to me is "Lust for Life" with Kirk Douglas. It's about Van Gogh, who had temporal lobe seizures, which is the
area of the brain supposedly affected by PTSD and which gives rise to dissociation, which is only seen is highly creative people. I don't think it relates much
to c-ptsd except that is shows the reactions of others to things of beauty that they don't understand.

The 2007 TV Movie of "Sybil" was a good one for me. Sybil was the girl who was severely abused as a child
and developed dissociative identity disorder. He shows 'triggers' and 'flashbacks' very well and it isn't goolish
or overly dramatic.

White Oleander is one movie that sticks out... it sssooo reminds me of my relationship with my mother and has a couple of similar incidents. The thing that gets me is that there was no happy ending to it either, it's a story that's really happening.
