My First Tattoo

So I'm going to go get my first tattoo ever today!! I'm excited and nervous. I have wanted to get a tattoo for years but 5 1/2 years in the Navy and I got out with no tattoos. Now over two years later I'm going to do it for my 30th birthday LOL. I'm getting "The Dark Ages are Past" tattooed on my left wrist and "Semper Reformanda" Latin meaning always reforming or changing on my right wrist. They are my grounding phrases and I really want them on my wrists so they are close by no matter where I am when I'm triggered. Anyway, just felt like sharing :) hope everyone is having a good day!

I have just had my 7th tattoo done as shown in my new avatar, I am now planning a full chest piece incorporating my children into it to show them just how much I love them. I wish you every joy with your body art.

Thanks @Santa_Laurie I have about 5 or 6 tattoos planned out in my head but I haven't made the leap yet. I'm terrified of needles, not the pain but the idea of something going into my sick really creeps me out. I'm using my 30th birthday as my motivation to take the first plunge. "I have to get my first tattoo before I turn 30 on the 31st!" I know after I get the first one it won't be long till I have the rest LOL

I'm extremely terrified of needles and doctors to the point of being on the verge of passing out. I refuse to get shots unless they are necessary and never get blood work and had no problem with the tattoo needles. Maybe because they are encased and not giant and long? Good luck! Can't wait to get more tattoos myself. :)

I have the AUM tattooed on my wrist. To me it means the deep silence behind it all.
Calm in the middle of all the turmoil.

Really like your choice of constant change/renewal. I hope your session goes awesomely :)

I have a tatto on my wrist in memory of a friend.

I hate needles but tattoos aren't that bad. I think it will be much easier to get another one after I did the first one.

I am sure it will be awesome. I hope we get to see a photo if you are up for sharing!

I already have two tattoos, but I have two more planned. I don't have a problem with needles, I can even give myself an injection. :whistling:

Congrats on getting your first tattoo today. Be careful, they are an addiction! Like potato chips, you can't just have one! ;) I just got my 3rd one on Wednesday.

My nephews a tattoo artist, so I get them for free. We're covering up my cutting scars. I get so relaxed getting tattoos I could fall asleep.

I have a few tattoos and they are so full of meaning to me. The needles are not that bad. The one I got in memory for my husband really hurt because there was so much color in it. Congratulations and welcome to the tattoo club.

The deed is done! I'll try and post pics tomorrow since they are all on my friends phone. I LOVE THEM!!! And I totally get the falling asleep bit, it didn't hurt at all and the hum of the gun was cathartic. It was a lot like the feeling I get from cutting but with a positive outcome, I just may get addicted LOL

OMG @Momofthree i was going to post that getting a tattoo is like cutting a real stress reliever but didn't want to freak you out!!! Welcome to the club!
