Crazy Cat Lady
New Here
Hi,
I am new here so I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself.
My name is K and I'm 23 years old and live in the UK.
I suffered abuse from the age of 7-10 (from my next door neighbours dad)
I also suffered abuse from the age of 13-16 (from two boys at my secondary school)
Both incidents were sexual in nature.
I was diagnosed with anorexia when I was 13, and despite being at a healthy weight, I still struggle greatly with the eating disorder related thoughts and prolonged physical damage.
I was seen twice weekly at CAMHS and when things hit rock bottom, the out reach team got involved and saw me in my home. Despite their best efforts, I was admitted to an adult psychiatrist NHS IP unit at just 18, following an OD, although discharged myself as found it very unhelpful.
I worked with a trainee psychologist at the eating disorder team when I was 18, before going to University. It didn't really help. At this point, no one knew about my past and I wanted to keep it that way. I started self harming and taking opiate pain killers. I went to University but only lasted a year before things just got too much.
I was re-referred to the eating disorder unit for CAT therapy but I found it very intense. I was having multiple physical health problems and had to have surgery so decided to stop therapy.
I found the NHS just wasn't helping and looked for a private Psychologist. I have been seeing my Psychologist for nearly a year and from January this year, I've been seeing her twice a week. I won't go into it too much here as this is just a brief introduction.
I love spending time with my two gorgeous cats.
