Now if anyone was clever enough to put one and one together - you will work out one of the days we will be in NYC.

Hooray. Nicholette are you well now? It will lovely to meet you both face to face when you choose.

We went to the Intrepid air and sea museum. It is the small aircraft carrier now permanently docked on the west side of Manhattan. There are so many aircraft on the flight deck. They had a black hawk jet 'super radar undetectable' because it could fly up so so high. They had little jet fighters like a Mig and F15. I loved looking at how they were painted for camoflage until they discovered that plain grey ones we harder to shoot down, and Oh Nicolette they had the cutest little hilocopters that looked like they had modeled for cartoon ones.

You will need a warm hat. It is windy up there. They have renovated the lower deck as a museum with a small movie theater and a cafe. We went on Veterans day week-end and they had brought the Navaho code talkers to help raise money for a Hall on the res. and to try to get proper stoves and water for those code talkers who we still living in substanard housing. I was so proud to shake their hands. Iask one of them if they thought that the younger navahos were more interested in learning Navahonand the culture. he say yes. It has made a big impact on the people's sense of self worth. The saddest part of the code talkers story is that they each had a corps man with them at all time. Their orders were to shoot and kill their code talker, if it looked like they were going to be captured......

Dislike Jet but thank you. We had heard that but also when it is open you can spend hours waiting to climb it - just like the Eiffel Tower.

With the Home land Security in charge of every thing, I don't know if they will still let people up into the torch. The Staten Island Ferry, which leaves from the southern tip of Manhattan, makes a nice slow, calm pass by the Statue of Liberty on the way to Staten Island. It has an inside space for those who chill easily and nice deck space for those who like the wind in their faces. Nicolette, you could sit by a window inside ? and Anthony could stand beside you outside?

This is much cheaper than a ferry to the Statue would have ever been. I like to plan to go out around 4:00PM before the rush hour. On landing, go into the little town of St. Georges just to the right of the ferry landing, and have tea or dinner. Then when has dusk been falling, take the other part of your round trip ticket back to Manhattan. The difference between Manhattan in the day and the bright dazzle of Manhattan at night is amazing, unforgetable.
