I did a month sabbatical for exercise, nutrition, and classes... even did clinical testing and 8 psychotherapy sessions and group therapy three times a week. I loved it and wish I could afford to do it again. It was a very beneficial time and worth every penny.

Some things stuck and have carried me a long way. But it was Structure House in Raleigh-Durham. It was actually for weight loss... I was a respiratory rehab and was stuffed full of steroids... they were kind to think out of the box for me. I was overweight, but not really as overweight as they usually provide services for.

But I'll tell you what I learned, I learned I'm open to learn about things and on my own, I'm willing to manage basic health things with a level of competency. It was a whole lot better than boot camp I can tell you that!

I'm really interested in anyone sharing here, it would be really great to find somewhere more appropriate to go. But, I came home with a level of self confidence about being in new sitituations, with strangers, and being able to focus and learn. It was a self esteem builder. A couple times when the instructor didn't show up, I even taught a couple of water aerobics classes (big deal for me)

I did but it was a little too religious in nature. I would like to try one of the silent retreats run by those monks who do not talk. My friend went on one and she said it was amazing, so comforting, and so revealing.

I want to go so bad I can taste it! But it is too hard for me to travel alone and it would be far away. But I keep looking because sometimes the Catholics run them and they do not charge a lot because they do want to help. I saw a Buddhist one, too, and they often have scholarships where you can help in the kitchen. They also really want to help people.

If I go on one, I will report!

I was just about to ask the same question as the OP. Surely there must be something like this out there. The psych group that I see has a "day hospital" but I don't know much about it. What I would really like is something like summer camp with therapy involved.
