I forgot to mention. One of the side effects of Zoloft is the 'Porn Star' effect. You can go for ages. lmao.

I was informed GI issues like heartburn and diarrhea are common until your body gets used to the medication. I avoid the heartburn by drinking a few glasses of water when I take the pill.

Hey buddy, I still hate taking medication. I even went off all of my meds and self medicated, it wasn't the answer, especially when you have kids.

One day I hope to be off them.

As a word of advice, meds are a bandaid fix to help your mind calm down enough so the therapist can get in there and help organise things. It will also help your mind calm enough to sleep.

I'm not digging this Zoloft WHATSOEVER. Sure, I'm cool as a cucumber but I've got this suppressed rage now now that comes out ever few days that makes me want to destroy someone.

Also, I'm about the most apathetic, emotionless creature there is now. Feels like a piece of bulletproof glass has been placed in between me and my emotions. Time just flows past me like water, and nothing matters anymore.

It's bullshit and I hate it.

I'm immediately halving my dose and weaning myself off of it. f*ck the provider who's been PRESSURING me to take SSRIs.

We are all apathetic and emotionless creatures, that is what they trained us to be like otherwise we would not have survived battle.

Don't be pressured into taking any kind of medications, however, if your therapist suggests you go on one, then there may be a deeper reason. They might want to help you organise your filing cabinet. Think of your mind like a bunch of doors, at the moment every door the therapist opens they get a savage Rottweiler, or a 'Actung' flashing red sign. They need to be able to open the doors to tidy up the room so you can live a better quality of life.

My ultimate goal is to live drug free.

Update, was having a rough few days but I'm still taking the meds as prescribed. Got to have a bit more faith I suppose, and couple bad days during a medication change are expected ...

I'm like in day 30. The sertraline has become so background now that I don't notice it (maybe that's good, permanent, ???)
Learning to pound the most of rage down with Prazosin, breathing, grounding (loud rock works), and angry letters I have no intention of sending to anyone. At least it gets the crap out of your head.

On day at a time, I guess. My wife is now having dreams/nightmares about pills---the amount that are flying off the counter now (mine). Go figure.

Glad to had it's working for you. Recently upped my dosage to 75mg, starting to have side effects. Most of the week I feel as emotionally dead as a door nail, 2-3 days a week I'm in an absolute rage, and at least once a week I'm having SI/HI.

Needless to say, I need to ask my provider whiskey tango foxtrot.

My VA meds doc seems to have a very good handle on what I need (before I know I need it). Maybe she's done this before?

I know this forum is kind of old but I was wondering if anybody has had tiredness while taking Zoloft or maybe it's just that since the beast hasn't let me have a good night sleep in months.

If by tired you mean smacked in the head with a brick to lay flat out until it wears off... Then yes. Xanax knocks me out even faster. Neither is good sleep, wicked vivid dreams, but if I'm on a hardcore insomnia jag either will do the job. And hurt less than a brick.

Yep pretty much. Tired all day, go to bed tired wake up a couple times in the night. Luckily since I joined the military I don't remember most of my dreams but usually wake up once or twice wondering what is going on and then I wake up tired and the tired feeling never ends.
