Just got back from Wal-mart. There was a guy in line that was having some card issues. I wanted to beat him senseless  for making me wait longer, to stay out longer.

I am sooo damn tired of feeling like this :(

Argh... we have our moments of frustration, but that's all they are, frustration.

I learnt that when in such situations to put myself in their position... thinking about it often resulted in the person being stuffed around is likely just as frustrated as we with PTSD are watching, waiting... but if they don't have PTSD then they don't show it like we do... usually resulting in anger, so I use them as a learning mechanism of what I should strive for with patience and understanding, ie. things happen outside our control, then shit just happens sometimes.

I use the same with driving, ie. the person in a hurry who just cut me off or such, well, I could get out and put my fist through their window, or maybe they have PTSD also and feel the same as I do! Interesting thought...

I remember doing this. It doesn't happen very often any more.

Ways I dealt with this:
  1. Be POed beyond words, kept it all inside, and left before I decided to actually hurt someone
  2. Realized that I could make a choice about how I felt while I was waiting
  3. Began to take an hour's worth of reading material with me wherever I went.
  4. Used the waiting time to relax and learn something
  5. When I got stuck in a waiting situation, without reading material, I pretended that I was trail watching, and consciously re-enacted in my mind what it was like to blend into the jungle and wait silently. I remember being very surprised at how well this worked for me.
