I'm still having a lot of non-trauma related nightmares and I don't get it.
In last night's nightmare, I was walking through this barn like place. I couldn't really see anywhere but it was wooden boards for the floor, there were leaves all over the floor and there was a bed there. I'm pretty sure it was my bed.
I was walking around the bedroom, I'm not sure for what reason and then there was a snake. He was over by the door and he was huge! I tried to sneak past him to get out the door and he jumped up and bite my hand. I fell to the ground. (He was a venomous snake.) I couldn't move. I tried calling out for help but I couldn't. It was really quiet when I did. He was still latched onto my hand.
I screamed and screamed but hardly anything was coming out so no one heard me! I knew right then and there I was going to die. I tried to look around and everything was blurry but I could still feel the snake on biting my hand.
Just then I woke up. I was shaking, sweating, crying a little bit and my throat was sore and dry so I think I was really trying to scream in my sleep. I went to get up but then was afraid to put my feet on the floor. I took a breather then ran across the room, upstairs and walked around the house. I kept rubbing and checking my hand. I couldn't calm down! I turned on the TV hoping that would calm me down but I couldn't concentrate on what was happening so I shut it off. I looked outside and saw my neighbor. That helped make me come back into reality. After about half an hour and went back into my bedroom, lay down and just like that starting shaking like a leaf. I finally got to sleep but damn...

Why am I have these dreams?! I've never had a bad situation with a snake. I've held a snake once and it was fun. That's it. Makes no sense! Gahhhh.

Zoloft can give nightmares. One of the reasons why I changed to a different antideppressant was the nightmares. Are you taking zoloft?

No. I wasn't on any medication other than Xanax at the time. Now I'm on Xanax and Prestique. I'm still getting very scary/weird dreams....
I'm going to check with my doctor to see if maybe the medication could be the cause.
