So I was recently diagnosed and my T thinks it is due to early exposure to domestic violence. When I was 11, my brother and Mom got into a fight. He pushed her and busted her head open. She had to get staples. There has always been issues. He is bipolar and flips out. I live in fear of him.

Anyway..yesterday he got made because my Mom would not let him use her car. He flipped out and called her every name in the book. I finally had enough and told him to shut up. Then he started screaming at me.

While all of this was occurring I started shaking really bad. Is this normal for PTSD?

My Mom says he is all talk but I don't trust him. I have lived in fear of him my whole life....

I shake too. It seems to happen in stressful situations such as verbal altercations and job interviews. I've learned to hold my hands together in my lap beneath the table during a job interview. It helps a little and is better than me having to take a sedative. This started about six months ago and is showing no sign of going away. It showed up after a verbal altercation with my sister where I shook badly. I don't know what else to do for it.

I tend to shake as well. Whenever my anxiety level gets too high, I tremble. Even if I'm anxious about a good thing.

When I am alone, I do not shake. But whenever I am in any conversation or with other people, even with friends and family, I shake so much that I have difficulty in eating or holding a cup. This is really embarassing to me. Is this also normal, and how can it be treated?
