Stuck In Time

has anyone on here felt they are stuck in time. Just realized yesterday I have been stuck on February 6th since that day. That day my life changed and was told by my friend she was raped and has PTSD.

If anyone has been stuck on a date or stuck in time how did you move on from that time period. I understand I have been pushed away but I need to live my life as if it's the end of June not February 6th.

That's a tough thing to hear! I'm sorry for your friend and I'm sorry to hear that it's been on your mind a lot. Being the one in abuse situation as child, for me, it's a little different because I often get stuck in a specific year. I pull myself out of it by distracting myself from thinking about the subject and stimulating myself by doing things that brighten my mood or distract me; read books, watch shows, work, etc. Given that we're in different situations, what works for me may not work for you.

Stats, you're a wonderful friend. It sounds like you have suffered some trauma from learning about your friend's attack. You would definitely benefit from talking with a therapist. I hope your friend is already doing that.

Talking to us here would benefit you as well, as an outlet to release some of your pain. I'm glad you're here with us.

Im seeing a therapist this thursday and excited. I am not very happy to of gotten secondary ptsd

I can't say as I blame you. On the bright side, it will give you a better understanding of what your friend is going through, at a time when very few people do understand.

Good luck with therapy. I'd love an update after your therapy, if you feel comfortable talking about it.
