I remember the forum used to sell forum themed items to help raise funds and no one bought them.

Do you happen to remember how long ago it was? It would be good to know about what didn't work in the analysis of how to make this work and come up with a good proposal for Anthony to consider.

There are online stores like Bravelets taking off - they make products for many organizations with part of the profit going to each organization for each product they sell. In order to avoid having to keep stock, an option like that or Redbubble might be better than what was tried in the past. An option with very low up front costs - if any at all. Then if no one buys it, then there is no significant loss.

Another option - teespring. They only make the shirt if enough people order it.

What about kick starter or something like that. Then you have the money before the item is made. Not completely sure how the whole thing works, but seen a friend do it for a documentary.

I appreciate that members have the initiative to do this type of thing, but to be perfectly honest, I have been down this road before and the cost was simply too great compared to what people wanted to pay. I had all the excitement last time... then when it came to reality, there were about 3 purchases and that was it. At a about a dollar a shirt you get after costs, it just wasn't worth the time or inclination.

Again... feel free to go for your life with this if you want to raise money for the forum, however; I won't be doing anything with it, again, been there, done it, epic fail. There are better ways for me to raise revenue for this site than this type of scheme.
