The Right Time ......

No one knew when I tried, but it didn't help.

I think the key, & this will sound weird, is to find hope, to not be the 'walking dead', in a way.

Probably also to reduce self-rejection, self-hatred; estblish connections; learn how to accept love or even what it is; find a purpose.\; believe in the possibility of change.

I've never understood the idea that wanting to die is an automatic irrational thought.

One of my therapists explained to me that suicide ideation is a "flight" response - a coping mechanism - an extreme one, yes, but not irrational. This has really helped me reframe a lot of my thinking around my own suicidal thoughts. It's taken away a lot of the shame and self-recrimination and has actually helped reduce them quite a bit.

I agree it's a coping mechanism -when I am triggered, or having a panic attack-I immediately think of suicide. It almost takes some pressure of what I am going through -knowing I can end it all. It's extreme but it's a choice.

Even though I don't know your complete situation, I can say this.
Question your statements. Has anyone said these things to you?
There must be some things that you can be grateful to have.
I Joseph, feel guilty about burdening my family.
I secretly hope I don't wake up the next day.
However, I please try to consider what is good in your life, and dispute invalidated claims of your presence.
Maybe you could talk to some of the people involved.
Your mind can be your biggest enemy, and your best friend.
Choose friend please.

Ok,
How about writing down or typing into the computer the positives in your life. Just write them down in some form, and look at them the next day. See if you feel better. It has worked for me, so I maybe it will for you too. I still have my ups and downs.
Simple positive things. It doesn't have to be a lot. It can be 1 or 2. Just try to remain positive.
