I doubt it will be a pity party, but at the end of the day, members here have PTSD, or care for someone with PTSD. Bearing that in mind, there may be people on line who are upset and distressed. Chistmas can be a stressful time for anyone, throw PTSD into the mix and all sorts of shit can hit the fan.
Most people who have posted here are quite up-beat about this get-together..... but please remember this a place of support for suffers and carers of PTSD.
Not every member who uses this forum will have seen this thread and may come here for some much needed support - please be considerate.

You are right in your comments. I had kind of mentioned that but it was pages ago, LOL.

We absolutely want the PTSD Forum chat to be for PTSD. A party yes, but also a place to discuss how the holidays affected you.

I have not set up a special room yet but Amethist and I talked about a room for quiet reflection or something along the lines of discussing the impact of the holidays.

And, party STARTS at 7 PM Amethist's time, 2 PM EST, and 6 AM in Australia. Doesn't mean it won't be continuing, hopefully, for some time after that! (For those still in bed, LOL)

Someone asked about Alaska time. Does the EST time help figure that out? Or the chart Anthony posted with Canada times?

Hi All

I have just had a quick look at the chat area.

Now I am thinking, if it is OK with Anthony and Nicolette, to set up a Party Chat room for the day. This way it will leave all other rooms as they are for those who feel they cannot drop in, but need to chat freely as they normally would.

Also maybe a quiet room, for those who need to be able to leave the main party room for a while, but would still like to be involved.

If this is fine with all involved then maybe this way it would work better. Names could be given to these rooms so no mistakes can be made. As I would hate to feel anyone could not join in some how.

This will be great fun for all. Any other ideas for this anyone.

That is a great idea Amethist....and certainly can be done since we can already create rooms in chat.

You can also creat more than one Party Chat room, so it will make it easier for everyone to "talk", since it does get confusing when there are too many people in chatroom, sometimes hard to follow. This way we can jump from on Party room to another. Maybe number the rooms. ex. Party Chat 1 ....Party Chat 2 and so on.

And also a great idea that there can still be rooms where people can still go talk about issues or vent.

Wow Amethist, what started as a small idea....just kept on growing and growing !! :clap:

I don't know whether I like the separate party chat rooms (more than one) idea as to me that makes room for 'grouping' or 'clickiness' when I thought the whole concept was to come together as the forum.
