I'm JarHed. I'm a Viet Vet that served with the Marines during the TET Offensive in 1968. I was wounded twice. those wounds have healed well, it's my PTSD that just never goes away. It's kind of like a roller coaster ride. There are times when I'm kinda OK and then there are those other times.

I worked most of my life as a carpenter and now I'm not working, retired. Actually my PTSD has gotten worse and I couldn't work even if I wanted to. I have some other medical issues as well and they all keep me busy mitigating my medical conditions. Not exactly how I though this period of my life would be, but I'm still hopeful. I guess that's what's keeps me around.

You don't have to be a combat vet to have PTSD and in a way we're all in the same place here, looking for answers.Perhaps I can share some experiences and learn from some of yours as well.

I can't change the past, but I'm trying to learn from it so that my future can be better.

Hi All

Thanks for the warm welcome. It's often hard for me to say what I think. Kinda keep to myself. I'm sure a lot of people here can both understand and relate to that.

Sometimes the hardest part is taking that first step. :)
