@ShikibuZ - As an FYI, the only moderation that occurred was to merge back to back posts that occurred less than 15 minutes apart. No edit or changes were made to content.
Good clarification though! Moving on...
Taking my moderator hat off now...
I personally don't listen to Rush because his voice is grating to me, but I do read transcripts and listen to excerpts of what's being said on both the left and the right. It's not Rush's opinion that I care much about, but it helps to know what people on both sides are hearing. It makes it easier to spot when people are just repeating what they have heard vs. when they actually believe something because they've done their homework.
I try to live by the principle that if I have an idea, opinion, or possible fact, and I want to know if it's really true, then I should hold it up to other opinions and evidence, and if it still stands at the end, then I know I've really got something. I'll take what I believe and know to be true and honestly evaluate it with the input of those that disagree with it, and see that it still stands.
Rush did not present a single solid argument that climate change is not happening.
As for his argument that there is media hype? Well yeah. "If it bleeds it leads" - so of course there is media hype. Is it a conspiracy by climate change activists? He gave no evidence of this. Does it invalidate the threat of these hurricanes? Nope.
The governor of Florida is a Republican, not a "lame-stream" reporter, and gave clear dire warnings for a week about this storm. Was he part of the grand liberal conspiracy too? Uuuuugg. Rush did more to look like an idiot, and thus support the left, than to make any solid arguments to persuade me that climate change is a hoax.
