My husband and I have been married since August but have been together for 4 and a half years. Our first Valentine's Day together, he reserved a private room in a fancy restaurant and took me out for supper. He hired a barbershop quartet to sing to me and gave me roses and chocolates and then we went to a movie after our delicious supper. Why does that kind of stuff always go downhill after you've been together a while?

My illness and what I am dealing with does not help. I feel very disconnected from everyone in my life right now, especially my husband. Can't stand to be touched and don't want to be told I'm loved. All the days flow in to one and I didn't realize until today that the big love day was tomorrow. I don't even have a card!! I explained to him today as we had a heated "discussion" that gifts do not mean love to me. So i'm hoping to just have a peaceful night at home with him with no arguing which is a rare event these days. I too feel that it is much too commercialized!!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone out there. I hope you feel love everyday though, not just tomorrow!
