Weekly Social Weight Loss And Exercise Catch Up

The last surgery I had was in June and I can't mentally do it again, so I cancelled the upcoming surgery and have decided to live the way I am (no matter how painful it is). So exercise is even more important now to keep myself as strong and healthy as possible. Now I have no more real excuses.
Just make sure you don't injure yourself. Do correct warm ups and cool downs.

I will try again and damn it, this time I will succeed!!!
You will, keep at it.

It's a balancing approach. Maintain weight is multi-faceted, though it does all come down to calories in versus calories out. The problem though, that many aren't aware, is that you have this thing called individualism. Individualism comprises of gender, age and unique body characteristics. Men burn more calories than women. The older you get, the slower your metabolism becomes, thus food is digesting slower. Then you have these unique body characteristics, such as height and genetics (how your body handles specific food types). These will vary your above factors also.

The trick is that you have to find the balance. The older you get, the more important regular daily exercise becomes to help speed metabolism and burn excess calories that your body may otherwise hold onto.

That is a very basic outline though...

Been walking a few days for about 5-7 miles than hit a flat-on-my-back-time out. BUT I am blessed to keep the faith and keep on keeping on. Gained a few pounds back from comfort eating during those times...but bump it. I am now 130-133 still depending on the time of the day, and how crafty I am with what I am wearing (or not when I am desperate to seem lighter:clown:).
Seriously, one can weight less wearing less...so jump on the scale and prove it out!!

My Jawboneup24 is still functioning and motivating me and the team is awesome. If anyone gets one for Christmas...don't forget us!

How is everyone doing this week? Best brag now before the Christmas goodies!:woot:

I've been losing weight recently but haven't really been exercising more. It's all becasue I was finally taken off the medication that caused all the weight gain (50 pounds) to begin with and I am taking something to help control eating. I've lost about 25 pounds so far and about 8 of that in the last 2 weeks.

Food just isn't as important becasue that medication was causing serious appetite changes is gone and I've been going to how I would eat before the medication though I need to eat healthier. It was always so depressing becasue I always knew that, I knew how much the medication changed my eating habits and how I couldn't control them and how unless I was taken off that medication I wouldn't lose much weight. No one seemed to listen though until my current doctor.

And I was right. 25 pounds! It's only been...2 months? I feel I can really exercise becasue now it doesn't wind out my lungs or hurt my hip so much to run. My arms are more trim, stomach is smaller (still there though, long way to go), my face is thinner. I can even get clothes a size smaller. My husband's complaint...my breasts are smaller; all fat tissue.

Bit of hope I guess. Time to start hitting the gym again. And I really hope it doesn't sound like excuses since I know how common that is with exercise...without that damn medication I feel like that is hope to lose weight, be healthy in some weight. I felt stuck before. Just stuck becasue I knew I would be putting that medication in my mouth every night and then one day I put my foot down and told her she needed to find something else...I'm to young to be overweight...

I have 7 chronic illnesses and take 13 medications daily.

8 of those meds have weight gain as a side effect. Abilify is one of those meds and another is Lyrica.

After being a healthy weight for years, I am now 60 lbs overweight. This is hard on my heart and complicates and worsens other disorders and conditions.

Because I suffer with Fibromyalgia, COPD, CFS/ME (chronic fatigue syndrome / myalgic encephalomyelitis) etc, my ability to exercise is limited. So I am struggling with weight gain and exercise right now.

I am working with my doctor to lose weight and improve my ability to withstand more vigorous exercise., but due to a problem with pain, I am not very hopeful for improvement at this time.

Addendum: After a doctor visit today I should be feeling relief from pain soon and be able to move about and get more exercise. I have also lost 9 lbs and so now only have 51 more lbs to go.

Well, new to this thread, so a bit of back up on earlier stuff. Around 2 months ago I weighted 90kg at height of 176. Then I started some kind of weight loss and lost 12kg (and gained a bit of muscle, though haven't been to a gym once). Now I weigh around 78kg and am trying to go a bit more down. I still have selfesteem falling to zero so I can't really take a look at my own body without disgust. Showering being the worst often. I have a slow metabolism, so hard to lose weight. I ussually just minimise food intake to something really small.

Anyway, will start doing the thing on this thread weekly.
