Traveling- I know that a part of me knows how to drive-and I always get there- and I’m over 60 and haven’t “woken up” to an accident while I’m daydreaming so I don’t worry about this one. This is low on my current PTSD priority list. I drive across country- I get there on time is all I care about.
If I momentarily forget where I’m going in the car and just as the question aloud-I do know where I’m going and get an answer in my head - like if I was daydreaming and if I just passed a turn. Honestly, it is easier to cop to an age related brain fart- if I’m with someone- but that rarely happens.
I’m trying to get comfortable in new places with people I trust or just get more comfortable in my own skin cheaply- so I’m trying Glamour camping-sleeping in the back of my SUV in camp sites. I think of putting up a tent and “NO” . I took so much longer to leave the house- cried off and on- and packing tasks were arduous! A day late leaving- but I did-and I’m in the Midwest with people I know. Once I’m away from home I feel pretty safe. Once it is me and nature and my camera- it’s a very grounded communing with nature- peaceful.
Kudos to you for getting out and getting motivated!
