What Medical Bud Strains Work Best For You?

I'm wanting to get a permit for medicinal marijuana, because I know with some strains they really help with my anxiety and sleep problems. But I know with some of these pro weed doctors, they give the prescription and don't always give advice on what strains are best for your condition.

All I know is if I have too much thc, I get way too paranoid, I found that out after taking one puff of crystal. Some strains do that too, especially ones with low cbd, and roaches are off limits for me :hungover:

I don't need to be baked all the time, I just need something to keep me sane through the day and something non addictive to sedate me at night. Is just cbd a good idea for me or what? I've never been to a dispensary so I don't know how helpful some of the bud tenders would be.

I use weed for my insomnia, distress and lack of appetite but its illegal full stop where I live so I've always accessed it through underground trade. I find the opposite to you in that high THC to CBD ratio helps me more as it allows me to be chill stoned rather than monged stoned which makes me worse as it makes me feel trapped in my body so i favour ammi and citrus kushes but everyone's ratio requirements are different and if your looking for higher CBD content i really recommend you try blue cheese, make sure its the blue strain though as its totally different from any other strains of cheese and an infinately cleaner hit.

I use two strains for my PTSD and anxiety. One is a pure CBD strain called Harlequinn. Then I have a high CBD/High THC strain that has honestly prevented me from either losing it totally and winding up in a looney bin, or throwing myself into traffic, is God's Gift. I'm a super lightweight, and a gram lasts me almost two weeks. But both are reasonably priced, although the Harlequinn is difficult to obtain in the low desert of Southern California.

I'm not even certain of what cbd does to me, as I've never had it alone. So I'll have to do some sampling when I get my permit.

I thought balanced thc/cbd strains were good for everyone. Guess I was wrong. Thanks for sharing.

Hope your country starts legalizing soon. Idk what's going on in the uk, but in canada there are so many dealers selling counterfeit fentanyl laced weed. I wont buy weed of the streets anymore, since I got a family to think about.

A gram lasts you two weeks?!? f*ck that's impressive I struggle to make a Q last me five days I must smoke at least a gram a day I wonder if I'm subconsciously harming myself through this?!? Never sleep or chills for a split second without it though.

I'm lucky I suppose. I use God's Gift as my balanced strain. On average it's about 17 THC/25 CBD. Since CBD is nonpsychoactive you don't have to worry about any additional side effects from the sav blend. I don't use it preventative style though. I wait until I'm shaking, been up for three days, haven't eaten in at least 24 hours, cold chest feeling, heart racing anxiety kicks in. I live in California, so I don't have to worry about legalities, but I do have to deal with pothead asshats who have a medicinal card for "migraines" buying out my dispensary before I can stock up.

I live in a legal state so I have no political views on it, but I do want to give a health warning my acupuncturist gave me about marijuana when I got my CPTSD flareup and my ex jokingly offered some to "calm me down":

If you have a neurological tremor (like I do, stress based) weed is supposed to make it worse. This is particularly because mine is wind-based, meaning under traditional Chinese medicine I have too much wind (liver imbalance) and so I shake and am ungrounded. Under Ayurveda my dosha is vasha, which is windy and flighty. So when I have issues off I go from the ground and marijuana will only make that kind of disposition fly higher.

Just thoughts to consider - you may not be into that at all so in which case, just ignore!

I recently saw someone on social media post about CBD being so beneficial (as you can guess I too am in Cali) but I'm not sure if that will have the same effect I just described above that I was warned away from.

@sophia wisdom the effects your acupuncturist describes come from the THC content, CBD has a very grounding effect. You can get CBD oil if you wish to avoid THC altogether but in my experience THC and CBD are like ying and yang they balence each other out to enable their individual properties to work the way their required to.

Balance I can't spell for shit
