News Why It's So Hard To Talk To White People About Racism

I shall leave it to the interested reader to further research the above. If one comes back here with the story of a bad computer algorithm and closed fire houses (which contributed) then clearly one is either very naïve or stupid, quite frankly but I'd advise further research. If you come back with a 'kids playing with matches' and the 'it was the people' story. I will not dignify such inane stupidity on the 'researcher's' part, with a response. I will ignore it, entirely, as one is not worth my energy and that person is wasting my (now precious) time and energy.

Since I saw The South Bronx burned as a kid(> 90% of it burned) and they said it was a computer error and kids playing with matches when even at 5-6.I seen it was 'professional' I realized since that the whole world is a big lie. Satan is a liar!

Affected Blacks and Puerto Ricans the most hence why not very well known.
Here is my more raw and emotional synopsis of The Bronx Fires from another thread.

What you are talking about, @Ed Norton, is 'planned shrinkage' - a term that was coined by the guy who initiated the South Bronx disaster, Roger Starr, NY housing commissioner in the 70s in the US. This article is actually pretty good: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planned_shrinkage

It's a terrible, terrible concept. Absolutely racially motivated, there's no way around it.

@joeylittle yes, planned shrinkage, but honestly, looking at from a distant engineering perspective, the mechanism from the planning stage through the detailed design work up to the actual implementation, ironically, is a really great example of the engineering process through 'finished' product, in fact, the exact same process used to design aircraft or ships or buildings.

Epilogue: When I lived in the South Bronx myself, 2001-2003.5. It was a wonderful place and quite peaceful. I had a good friend in the Webster Avenue projects; I found my dog there. 'We' are still there, in large numbers and the children of the survivors were doing quite well. It was nice to have pretty memories of that place to deconstruct those horrible childhood images. Admittedly, upon first arriving to my little studio apartment on Clay Avenue; I thought that I must have taken the wrong exit on the Whitestone expressway, as my first reaction was ' where's The Bronx'. I guess that account is slightly humorous.

I find the title sad and perplexing to see a form of reversed discrimination viewed as hot topic for exploration. Place another noun or race in there and see if it inflames. Educational posh has flecked many a text only to be rewritten or retracted later. What entitlement was held is dying within a declining race -

"...As a percentage of world inhabitants, the white population will
plummet to a single digit (9.76%) by 2060..." https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/uk.sci.med.nursing/C1ocvXi4iFw

-that was instrumental in both good and bad outcomes. That makes them people, not hard to talk to.

As well, quite a few of the peoples in the USA remain sitting on a piece of land, engineering prospective, what have you that entitles to somewhere called home. So some of the conquering Caucasian Entitlement has transferred to quite a few other parties. Some of those other people even feel entitled as well, to gaze among the spoils and perhaps point. Meanwhile Native American Teens in vast numbers are committing suicide on the Reservation due to economical & various other factors or what is left after the entitlement transferred several times to multiple peoples, races and creeds.

But I ask you to look up an internet Native Paper from any tribe...and take a moment to lessen the arch of finger pointing as one can witness the acceptance of many races on land that was once ours. We, all peoples ARE interconnected. Lay down the narrative, learn to make a treaty and smoke the peace pipe. It is better than war.

I am not against any people. If I dissected my complete heritage: Well on just my maternal side is Caucasian (Dutch, Scotch-Irish) from my grandma who is from the Southern US and my Grandpa her husband who was from Barbados. Then both of them have African heritage, of course (The tribal affiliation is lost to history now and would require DNA analysis)again on my maternal side through my great grandma and grandma, there's (significant) Cherokee ancestry, enough, I believe to 'qualify' me. My Dad's side is from Puerto Rico which tends to be a Afro-Caucasian (Spain) and Native mix (Taino, Borinques) though that exact mix is also lost to history. I have addressed general racism(in this very thread) I have experienced(violent) racism by Afro-American due to my perceived 'White or Latin' outer appearance. I have seen White systemic racism in action and I am a trauma survivor due to White racist cops. My best friend is White; my true friends comprise the gamut of ethnicities and races and national origin (I have slept with all types of women). I don't, personally, believe or think that all Whites are racist. My only real belief outside of the technical world is that the world is a lie. I tend to love people.

Here's my great grandma (she was not Hispanic, despite the name 'Juanita'). She was older than every single airplane in the world by almost 2month, I believe the Caucasian and Cherokee stands out the most in her outer appearance but there is much African ancestry too. I have a family of veterans, workers and a very rich heritage and I am proud of it all. I consider myself human. I 'carry myself' as a Latino through no devious design or denial. I am just that way cuz I am, strong Newyorican accent which I try to hide and all.

Anyway, enough on me here's the great 'Juanita Dent Core Hopkins, who lived to 109. 'Ed' racist? Perish the thought and don't you believe it!!!

Yes, I think the title can use some mending myself (((Recovery4me))) In order to not alienate anyone and encourage safe open and frank discussion.
' Why is it so hard to talk to people about racism? ' Why is racism so difficult to discuss?' 'Why is there racism, now, at all?'

(Ed takes pipe and passes the blunt-Dutch of course ;) ) don't tell the FAA shhhh

I think that this thread is happily concluded, for me. I have no further statements, really..none that I can think of.

I feel that the, overall intentions for this thread were in good faith and in good heart and spirit but the title a bit, inflammatory, indeed.

No more.

Ok I lied but I wasn't originally gonna post this but I think my personal pain from this thread will make sense. This is an emotional and personal post:

I feel like I finally said everything that I wanted to say in the racism thread but couldn't articulate before, especially when too symptomatic. It was such a hard issue cuz I dealt with terrible racism from, blacks and whites. And yet knew so many wonderful blacks and whites. White racism hurt me financially and ultimately led to my trauma. Black racism hurt me physically, emotionally (moreso than from whites cuz it was much more personal) and ultimately led to my trauma. It was so bad, I didn't go anywhere without a gun for a year. It was so bad that, I'm now permanently scarred; it was so bad...racism at its core was the ultimate cause of my societal disenfranchisement and downfall...it was so bad.
