He's also saying to use this time to stay healthy

^In part he says to go out and buy soda water & Quinine? How useful is slurping on that... at least without some gin in it? And self-medicating isn't cool. Didn't somebody in the US die from taking a drug the President mentioned?

And anyway, putting aside whatever helpful things he might have said after I stopped listening to him. He's not an expert in this field. For heaven's sake, leave the recommendations about what to medicate with to real, in life, doctors who people actually speak too. Not a yt hack.

He said to by seltzer water and zinc. Seltzer water won't hurt you and neither will zinc! Anyway.. That is the last I'll talk of video.

I can buy flowers just not from the family down the street who's livelihood depends on sales this time of year.
@LuckiLee - I don't know if this will apply in your area...We've had the same state-wide shut-down on all non-essential businesses in my state, but those small local businesses are figuring out how to close their physical store/storefront and still do business, within the guidelines. There's a local nursery that has become the floral supplier for our local Trader Joe's, for instance. Stores doing services as opposed to goods (like salons) are leaning into selling gift cards for future service. It's a way to keep some revenue flowing - allowing the loyal customer base to support them via sales, not donation (which can be very difficult to set up legally).
He's working by himself and received a $1,000 ticket driving because he's not essential. He will lose his business if he can't work.
This entirely sucks.

My state has deemed plumbers, electricians, and other "home maintenance" freelancers to still be essential. Makes me wonder if there's a way for your carpenter friend to contest the ticket that way. Obviously, new cabinets aren't a necessity...it's more a question of how he claims his business. Or, he could make the buyers come and pick up from him - individuals can still shop, and they assume the ticketing risk. Him obtaining materials by delivery is probably the new reality.

Not like you asked :) - sometimes, thinking about how other people can problem-solve helps me shift my mind away from ruminating on my own anxieties, that's all.

My heart really goes out to you, and J, and all the folks in Michigan. Michigan has had it really hard for a long time, and this on top of all that is a lot to live with.

Zinc has been proselytized as the latest ''cure'' for covid.... along with vitamin D, vitamin C, and cow urine. Yup, cow urine. Now there's a treatment you're just racing to get your hands on. The fact is, there is no ''cure'' for this virus (because it hasn't been around long enough for us to have discovered one), nor is there a hard and fast proven treatment. Hell, we won't even have a vaccine until next year. Anyone proselytizing a ''cure'' is a carpetbagger selling snake oil.

Think of it this way: how long have we been trying to find a cure for the common cold (a coronavirus).... a long time, but the damn thing keeps mutating (fyi COLD is an acronym for chronic obstructive lung disease) . How long have we been trying to find a cure for influenza (a virus, not a corona virus)... again, a long time but the damn thing keeps mutating. How about HIV/AIDS? Herpes varieties? We haven't found ''cures'' for any of these known, been-around-forever, well researched, viruses, but we've found a ''cure'' for covid after only 4 short months???? And the cure is malaria drug? antibiotic? common vitamins? common mineral supplements? hot air from your hair dryer? cow urine? (and we've recently re-discovered that the earth is actually flat, and yes at the edge you do fall off and there is a sign saying ''here there be monsters'').

Pseudoscience and opinion have replaced medicine, science, and common sense. Just throw the latest ''cure'' at the ceiling and see what sticks. FFS!

The belief that [xyz] medication/vitamin/substance won't or can't hurt you is complete BS. Every substance, in the wrong dose or delivery method, or in conjunction with other medication/vitamin/substance, or in conjunction with other medical conditions, can cause illness, injury, or be fatal. You can actually overdose on zinc and vitamin C (that's not a challenge to try it BTW). You can also fatally OD on just plain water too.

A friend of mine has a cabinet company. He laid off his staff and is working by himself. People still want their kitchen cabinets. He's working by himself and received a $1,000 ticket driving because he's not essential. He will lose his business if he can't work

That's insane. What happened to not pulling people over for driving during this time?

I have to get groceries. Its a must. Dog food too. Do i have to prove im going to the grocery store? Does the cop follow me? Where does that end?

Wow!

if you want to fight it, in front of a jury of your peers. Just don't start the fight with the cop writing the ticket, thats always a bad idea. People would be amazed if they truly knew how many tickets are written because of what I have heard referred to as "contempt of cop". If you get pulled over, your first shot at not getting a ticket is being respectful. Your last line can be a jury of your peers but it is very doubtful that it would ever get that far if you are truly just getting groceries. Save the receipt if you are worried about it.

My company is essential, and my skills are necessary there but I am going in after everyone has gone home, and driving home on deserted roads. I was given a sheet of paper explaining my necessary role, but have not needed it, nor has anyone else (unofficially) there are 600 plus people coming and going without a hitch that anyone knows about.

honestly, the cops are probably just glad they can respond faster to the domestic violence calls since they aren't constantly on traffic duty. I am glad too, there are more resources available for the stuff that really needs attention. Reports of child abuse are way down right now, but thats not a good thing, It is happening because kids aren't around teachers, cops, firefighters, dr.s as much. Without contact with people sworn to report child abuse, it doesn't get reported.

If that cop that used to sit and watch the stoplight is freed up to sit quietly on a cul de sac while he does his sheets, and he hears something or sees something that needs attention it wouldn't have received back when things were 'normal', we are all better off. If they are being told to write citizens that are just getting groceries, we all suffer. I have enough faith in the cops I know personally that if that was the case they would have been the first to complain about the wasted resources.

Volusia County, Fl is making face coverings manditory and if not adhered to I think they said something like $500 fine and up to 6 months in jail or something like that.

Daytona Beach has a testing site that tests anyone, without question, who has been in contact with someone with Covid-19. They said "no symptoms required, you won't be turned away" which has been the issue in Florida.

I wore a bandana out to my trip to Walgreens to get dog food and milk. f*ck! Hot as f*ck! And its a cool day. It was doubled over. I guess I could of worn it differently. I had to turn my head back and forth aggressively after I got out to make it fall down (I was outside) cause I couldnt breathe and it was hot. It was hot as f*ck inside the house with AC on. So much that I had to pull it down while getting Chopper (my service dog) vested. Wow! It was nuts!

I wasnt the only one with a face covering but not everyone is wearing one and people arent even being careful. People going around corners fast. Think God Chopper shows me if someone is coming around the corner with his body language or several people would of ran right into me.

I survived tho. Dog food doesnt look to be shortage. Milk either. Looked more stocked then Aldi when I was first getting food. Other then milk, I am still living off that food. Still have plenty. I got these odd potatoes. I tried to bake one in the microwave last night and getting it off the peal is so much harder. Yellow potatoes? They were the only ones left. Guess will have to boil them.

I had my dad mail me 4 masks. Their neighbor has a box and shared them. Pissed me off but since they already have them, why not ask for some? Im sure they are the throw away flu masks. But, im wondering if I saturate it with the bleach mixture and then let it dry, if that will work to sanitize it?

BLEACH! I forgot bleach! Ugh!

ETA: Though, I doubt there is any bleach. That first mixture is about half gone. Im sanitizing everything that comes in but my doors and stuff less.

ETA2: I left the hand sanitizer in the car so I wouldnt forget it. I hope it doesnt disapate in the heat.

"Frank Hahnel A real Doctor telling it like it is. It's all Fake."

I'll confess, I didn't listen to much of the video. It was taking him WAY too long to get to what ever his point was. But, I did do a search on his name, online. And I DIDN'T find anything. Nothing other than that video and what I suppose was a Facebook page. You would think that a legitimate doctor of something would show up in an online search, wouldn't you? (I would)

So, remember, anyone can say anything, that doesn't mean it's true. If this guy is really a doctor of some kind of medicine, it seems most probable that you'd find his practice listed online. I'll admit, I didn't do an exhaustive search, maybe it's out there. On the other hand, maybe he printed his own diploma.

Quinine will "cure" Covid-19. Load up on it. Its in a certian kind of tonic water. Get it now. And, "take back your freedom". Apparently, this social distancing goes against his "freedom" of living his life so he wants us all to dose up on quinine, as much as possible and then, I guess, rise up against authority to "take back freedom".

He may not be a doctor but he's surely f*cked in the head.
