I had guys here yesterday fitting a wardrobe door (part of some renovations) and one of their colleagues was picking up their son from the airport (International travel). They reminded him that he now has to isolate for 14 days under law here. He said, words to effect, "no, I will see you tomorrow."

Life WTF? His son is high category for being a carrier, must isolate, him included having direct contact picking him up and living with him. But nope.

My best advice is don't let him in your house. People will do whatever. But keep you n yours safe.

I believe they are bringing in our military soon to help police to ensure people are self isolating. That, or they will begin taking people away and force isolating them. I like the latter option, and believe it should be done everywhere. Forced isolation is the only way most humans can fathom the idiotic human traits that excuse away their piss poor behaviour.

WA seems to be ahead of the game. Rotnest Island has been opened up as a quarantine camp. NT was using a mining camp in Humpty Doo for the same purpose. Makes a lot of a sense to me.

Yer... I was pleased when watching that last night, having forced isolation to help contain this thing. I think all states should have mandatory forced isolation now. Pick them up, transport them to a facility that is controlled for isolation and recovery. When all good, let them out, regardless whether they get it or not. People can't be trusted IMO under these circumstances. I believe there is enough evidence to substantiate that belief already.

Sadly this, and the people are idiots thing is I think is something we all share common ground on.

in the US the requirement is 7 days from symptoms, 14 days if you have been around someone with symptoms and then if symptoms start for you in those 14 days, it’s 7 days after that. So being sick with any symptom could lead to someone else having to isolate for up to 21 days.

Humph. Today I was saying how much traffic there is still. More traffic today than when we bought this house less than a decade ago.

We are on lock down too. I had to speak to the police about an issue and the person I spoke to said thousands in this county are ignoring the new rules and that domestic violence rates are rocketing :(

Just want to be a bit clearer. I don't blame anyone on here. Initially they said continuous dry cough and / or fever then to stay home, self isolate. I didn't hear them say anything about other milder symptoms until more recently. I only heard them say recently that ANYONE can be a carrier - even people with no symptoms whatsoever? I think the most blame is on the Health orgs to be honest, for not giving clearer guidelines right away, like in November. I think guidelines and rules have been muddled the last few weeks and even days, but when there's TV ads on regular now in the UK saying not to mix with others who don't live with you then I wish people would follow that as much as they can. One of my dumbass cousins had a massive gathering (like 40+ people) with all her friends a few days ago, it's people like that I'm angry at. They'd been told and to ignore is just downright stupid and selfish. And people who are dating but not living together, are they really going to follow it? Sit 2 metres apart? Not kiss, etc? Of course they're not. Bloody selfish though.

Health orgs can't give info right away when they themselves don't have it, as either the research is in progress, the thing studied changes presentation on go, people behavior makes things worse only with time and creates (co-creates) the crisis *later* and so forth.

They are just people too. Not omniscient and prescient.
