Those counties are reporting upwards of 300-400+ new cases each DAY which I could swear is far worse than it was before. And we were on such an awesome decline. We’d gotten our numbers so damn low and now we’re right back worse than we started. ?

I did and I didn’t. Like I figured there would definitely be at least one more wave, but I thought we had a decent handle on it. Then the protests started. I really don’t want to go into any debate on should they or shouldn’t they protest, but I knew it would drive numbers back up. I just didn’t anticipate to go this high this fast and I’m getting legitimately scared. When we first heard about the virus I was like eh whatever it’s another flu no need to go crazy about it. And then it happened and I definitely changed my mind. But damn I thought we had a handle on it. And there was such a massive hoopla over quarantining which again I don’t want to get into a debate on that one. And so now I doubt the gov is going to want to quarantine again so then what? We just die off in good old fashioned Darwinism?

Covid has tripled here. We have chicken plants with Tyson.. All the people in the line are turning up sick with Covid. PresidentTrumps doctor ( I'll find in a minute) thinks a polio shot might help the coronavirus. My PCP died of Covid. I couldn't believe it. I'll find that article and post.

They have warned all along that a second wave was coming but didn't expect it quite so early. People just wouldn't take it seriously - and now we are paying the price. I just got back from the store and there were only a handful of people wearing masks. Sadly, I think in the end it might have been better to let it run its course the first time so we could have gotten it over with. Which totally sucks. :(

We got an email from work as a preparedness of going back in office. They are not calling us back in yet but basically when they do, masks will be required if you are not at your desk. Which is nice to see as most people weren't wearing masks when I had to go back into the office for a weekend a few weeks ago.

The virus never went away. We did a good job of containing it, however people thought that it disappeared, or as two different people told me, it was a plot to bring down the president and this resurgence is also a plot to keep him from campaigning. If two people I talked to, when I only talked to five people the entire time I was in Goldendale, told me this, I think a lot of people believe it. So they don't take precautions and won't wear masks. I don't especially like wearing masks, but I do like the fact I'm not spreading it.

10’s of thousands of people protesting = 100’s of thousands of new cases = Millions of new cases = ... :banghead:

Americans have the attention span of a toddler on a sugar high. 2 weeks is too long for most people to wrap their heads around. And the idea that hugging (fighting, breathing, spitting, crowding, sneezing, coughing) during a protest... well that’s like eating chocolate in the dark! There aren’t any calories if no one sees you eat it, or germs if it’s in a good cause!!! :eek:

So what's this shit about NY and other states electing not to contact trace or be able to even ask about "people who were protesting". GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (not even close to what I am thinking but it would contain a lot of swearing even beyond my normal f*cks.)

Last week Florida had a 202% increase in Covid-19 cases, which is soooo much higher then the 38% of the week prior. And this weekend we had the highest number of cases in one day so far during this entire thing.

A set of doctors calling themselves "physicians for social responsibity" gathered outside the governor's mansion calling for an order for manditory masks. The news station states that DeSantis is a libertarion that believe in less government and state orders so they doubt he will put in such a mandate. All I know is we are going in the wrong direction for phase III reopening. Wasn't there guidelines that the Whitehouse put out that stated there has to be a downward trend before moving into the next phase? I guess those were just guidelines for the States to do what they want but come on!

^And they petitioned for special exemption, got it & spread the virus. Now the rules around getting special exemptions have been tightened.
