Atilla, thank you so much for offering to help! If you could just perhaps let me know what you honestly think - am I wrong and being too much of a mother hen with my homeless vets? The ones I spoke to yesterday said they were overly agitated, felt the need to arm themselves, felt threatened...... But I could only connect with a few........
When I was homeless @LIllabeth ... There's pretty much no such thing as too much mother hen*... Because you either need exactly that, or not. Shrug. If not, you take yourself elsewhere. No worries. Just dodge and weave away. If so? Then f*ck, yeah. Someone's got your back and fighting for you.
They're easy targets. No one trusts them with weapons, no one trusts them in general, a helluva lot no longer trust themselves... and a lot are visible as blazes having progressed from don't give a f*ck to can't give a f*ck. Can't say most. But where I was (warm climate) most of us were invisible. Just another chick in a bikini or guy in board shorts sleeping on the beach in the sun. Snow? <shakes head> That would probably be a different story. Having someone like you there, who can give them a bit of their own back? Bring some trust back to soothe frayed nerves? Nah. Trust your own instincts. No such thing as too much.
* Mother Hen being defined as fighting for & got their backs & there when needed even if not wanted ;) Which is my assumption on how you operate. Chin up. You've got this.
