You Know You Have PTSD When...

When you make big progress in therapy by finally letting your therapist in on the darkest secrets of your life, just to find that something in your head switches in to "denial-mode": so that all of a sudden you feel just fine(for real!) and think that you don't need therapy any more. At all. You're just a bit confused as to why you told your therapist all that made-up-stuff and messed everything in your life up the way you did..:alien:

Then you tell your therapist over the phone that you're doing just fine and that you only made it all up. And he laughs and says that it's great that you can have such a great sense of humor about it, in the midst of it all.. And you have to tell him that you actually didn't joke. So he gives you an extra appointment!

When you're sitting on the couch watching the finale of Breaking Bad and suddenly - when Jesse gets freed of his chains and goes after that Nazi guy - you find you've jumped to your feet and are screaming at the top of your lungs, Get that - expletive - Jesse. Get him! Get him! Get him! And you're crying.

You're husband is like, Whoa, honey. A little concerned. Then you sit back down and it's as if nothing ever happened.

Except you can't sleep all night. In a good way though.
