That happens to me every night. I'm sorry it happens to any of us. :(

When you have to sleep n the hard floor because your vigilant nerves can't take your hubby's breathing motion through the mattress...

I'm betting 'The Princess and the Pea' starred a hypervigilant princess with PTSD.

Hello I’m new here I’ve finally found my people. I cant decide to be relieved I’m not alone or angry at all the sorrow in this world. We should all get together and build a time machine.
You know you have P.T.S.D. when…
When you watch horror movies to tone down your nightmares.
When a knock at the door makes your chest hurt.
When it feels weird to be in your body but its ok because you can leave if things get to bad.
When you meditate and successfully empty your mind only to end up sobbing and shaking uncontrollably.
When every time you tell someone how you really feel they either cry or want to send you to the hospital.
When you make your therapist cry.
When you consider getting the mail going out.
When your life story is to messed up to be a life time movie.
When people in your life just assume your suicidal even if your not.
When you hear everyday sounds and assume the worst…[for instance you think you here a fire in the next room but its only someone opening a bag of crackers by the time you figure this out your crying and yelling at them ‘HOW DARE YOU NOT WORN ME YOUR EATING CRACKERS’ ,and they just look at you like your crazy.
When you cuddle an urn instead of a teddy bear.
When it takes you hours to just list the things that gave you p.t.s.d.
When your trying to get over something that just happened only to realize it happened 6 years ago.
When all your worst fears have come true so you try not to fear anything only to end up terrified of everything.

When you are looking at dog toys, squeeze the squeaker and startle yourself. Seriously... Nearly jumped Jumped out of my skin. Felt like an idiot.

I can relate to many... specially that about drinking...I just get more normal for every drink...so I don't really get "drunk".
They think it's more about my Finnish genes ^^ but even Finns are supriced of that I can drink 1 ½ bootle 700cl whiskey before I get drunk. So I usualy don't drink ore if I drink I just drink for the taste and nothing else...

When you go on a concert indoors where it's really dark and uses sunglasses. (got some weird looks at the metalfestival this summer..without glasses you could not see anything but the scene but I had to have sunglasses because of the flashing lights)

Oh these are so good!! I know that in reality these things are difficult to deal with, but it's nice to be able to laugh at ourselves a bit. 'Course, i'm a redneck too, so I can laugh at myself a lot on that account as well

...when you move the furniture around in your house, and wake up at night panicked because you can't figure out where you are, what bastard broke in and moved all your stuff, or what the fastest escape route through the dark is anymore.

...you start searching for a gut wrenching movie, book, or youtube video to make you cry...so you can relieve the pressure on the brain.

...you spend the evening in a mental fog and aren't sure if it's from the beer you had for dinner or just your "stuff"
